Many made-to-order Post & Porch modern mailbox configurations currently require approximately 7-15 business days to leave our Utah, USA facility, depending on the model, size, color, mailbox post, and selected mailbox accessories. Carrier transit time begins after your custom mailbox order leaves our warehouse.

We’re incredibly grateful for every order that made that growth possible, and we’re working extremely hard to keep pace while still giving each made-to-order mailbox the time and attention it deserves. We know waiting can be frustrating, so we want to be transparent about what happens during that time rather than leave you wondering about your order's status. 

It’s helpful to understand the difference between production time and shipping time:

• Production time covers preparing, finishing, customizing, inspecting, and packing your order.
• Carrier transit time begins once the completed package leaves our Utah facility.
• Total delivery time includes both the production period and the carrier’s travel time.

Just a quick little note: business days don’t include weekends or holidays. We’ll send your tracking information as soon as your order is prepared for pickup, though it may take a little time to show movement while the carrier completes its first scan. If you don’t receive an email about your order, be sure to check your spam folder – you’ve probably heard this before.

That’s why two custom mailbox orders placed on the same day may not be completed at exactly the same time. A frequently selected combo – like black, white, or grey – may have all components ready to go in our USA warehouse, while a less common color (think red, blue, green, patina, or brown), size, or upgrade may require additional preparation by the team. 

We’d rather take the time to make sure the full configuration is correct than send a mailbox that doesn’t match what you chose for your home – that’s important to us.

If your custom mailbox includes personalized address numbers, our Utah team prepares those accessories as part of the order rather than treating them like a last-minute add-on.

Post & Porch magnetic house numbers are four inches tall, approximately 0.25 inches thick, and made from anodized aluminum. Their dimensional construction gives your address a more substantial, architectural look than a thin decal or flat adhesive number. Rare-earth magnets on the back attach securely to the steel mailbox without screws, glue, or drilled holes. 

That makes it easier to position the magnetic address numbers neatly, adjust their spacing, or replace one later without permanently altering the beautiful custom mailbox you ordered.

Before your Post & Porch modern mailbox order moves forward, we confirm that the address, font, finish, and number sequence match what you selected. Before your custom order can be packed, our Utah team assembles the remaining components and checks the finished mailbox against the exact details you selected.

Depending on the model and configuration, that final Post & Porch inspection may include:

• Checking for scratches, chips, or visible imperfections
• Making sure the door and mailbox flag are properly aligned
• Testing the lock when a locking mailbox is ordered
• Verifying the address numbers, font, and finish

• Cleaning the finished surfaces before packing

Powder-coated surfaces, magnetic house numbers, hardware, mailbox post components, and mailbox accessories are separated and secured to help prevent any scratching or movement inside the package before it reaches your doorstep.

After everything is accounted for, the carton is sealed, labeled, and prepared for carrier pickup from our USA facility.

While we pack each custom mailbox carefully and thoughtfully, damage can occasionally happen during transit. If your order arrives damaged, photograph both the product and packaging, then submit a claim through the Post & Porch Returns Portal within 48 hours of delivery. We offer to cover shipping costs for qualifying claims for damaged or lost orders.

Once your unique Post & Porch order leaves our warehouse, the carrier becomes responsible for moving it to its destination, AKA your home. At this point, the production stage is complete, woohoo! However, carrier transit time can vary based on the destination, weather, holidays, regional disruptions, and the shipment's size or weight.

A shipping label may be created before the package receives its first scan. There may be a short period when your tracking number is active, but no movement appears yet. That usually means the carrier hasn’t completed its first scan – but once the package enters the carrier’s network, the tracking information should begin updating.

It’s also important to remember that “ships in 7-15 business days” refers to when your order is expected to leave our Utah facility, not when it will arrive at your home.
