We couldn’t find what we wanted, so we made it.

The options felt flimsy, builder grade, and easy to overlook.

What started with a better-looking set of house numbers has grown into Post & Porch: modern mailboxes and curb-appeal pieces made for the homes people genuinely care about.

How Post & Porch Started

Our story begins in 2017 with Post & Porch’s founder, Danny Pilkington, making a keen observation that sparked an interesting thought: High-quality, modern address numbers that look good, function for visibility, and actually improve curb appeal are weirdly hard to find – most options felt flimsy and builder-grade; nothing you’d put on a house you actually care about.

That realization led Danny to create magnetic address numbers that install without a single drill hole and look stylish from the second they're placed. With no marketing budget and a simple dream, he set out to grow Post & Porch the old-fashioned way, selling those house numbers around Utah farmers’ markets and home-and-garden shows, one homeowner at a time.

When The Malone Modern Mailbox Took Off

The launch of The Malone Modern Mailbox marked a turning point.

Until then, Danny had focused on smaller outdoor decor details like house numbers, address plaques, and address planters; mailboxes weren’t even on his radar. But he quickly noticed the same problem everywhere: homeowners were choosing between standard mailboxes that faded and cracked, or alternatives that still didn’t feel modern. The solution became The Malone, a post-mounted mailbox designed for durability, clean lines, and great curb appeal.

The name always gets a reaction. Inspired by Danny’s childhood as a Utah Jazz fan, it’s a nod to Karl Malone, “The Mailman,” not the musician most people assume (though we see you, too, Posty).

What Post & Porch Has Evolved Into

Today, Post & Porch has grown into a one-stop custom mailbox shop rooted in the same idea Danny started with: curb appeal should feel individualized, durable, and worth caring about.

He hired a small team to hand-build each personalized mailbox order in our Utah, USA warehouse before it ships to homeowners nationwide. From wall-mounted to post-mounted mailboxes, locking mailboxes, secure package delivery boxes, and modern address numbers, our products are made from durable galvanized steel and finished with a powder coating for a cleaner look and stronger weather protection. And you can rest assured: Every order you place still passes through a very small circle of real hands.
